Animal Couples You Won't Believe! | Chewy Stories

Ready for a collection of heartwarming stories about unusual animal friendships? Then check out these odd animal couples Chewy has compiled for you! Our first pet friends are a pretty, pink pig and a caring, cute canine. When Esther was just a three-pound piglet, Shelby decided to make her part of the pack. Now they spend their days roaming around their family farm and sparking up all sorts of other unusual animal friendships. If that starts a smile in your heart, then these other animal friendship stories will definitely get you grinning on the inside. Lily is a curious kitty who spends her days curled up with her awesome animal friends, dogs! Wherever they go, she goes, and when they leave the house Lily waits patiently at the window for them to get back. Next is a pair of some of the most unlikely animal friends YouTube has to offer: a bird and a cat! Sylvester and Tweety cartoons might have you believing these two species are naturally predator and prey, but not these two! Gypsy’s beautiful bird buddy perches on her head and even tries to eat from her cat food bowl! Talk about trust! Finally, Zoe and Gable, a pug and horse, show us that size doesn’t matter when it comes to animal love! These furry friends are inseparable and love to go on rides together, and may even be one of the world’s oddest animal couples. It just goes to show that animal love comes in all shapes, sizes and species! Want more videos of cute animal friendships or a healthy dose of cute pictures animal love to look at? When Is the Right Time to Euthanize Your Pet?

Deciding when to put your pet down is a heart-wrenching decision. We’ve teamed up with Dr. Alice Villalobos to help us out with this difficult topic. Dr. Villalobos is a veterinarian who specializes in caring for pets with cancer. In this video, she introduces her Quality of Life scale and how you can use it to determine whether your beloved friend still has a good quality of life. Dr. Villalobos calls her approach “Pawspice.” Once a pet is diagnosed with a life-limiting disease such as pet cancer, she enters her pet patients into the Pawspice care program. The goal is to help increase the quality of life while treating the disease and alleviating any distressful signs the pet may have. In this video, Dr. Villalobos goes over each factor of her scale so you and your veterinarian can use it to determine your pet’s Quality of Life score. You will keep scoring your pet over time to make sure they maintain a good quality of life. The scale includes 7 factors, each scored from 1-10.: Hurt Hunger Hydration Hygiene Happiness Mobility More Good Days Than Bad A score of 35 or less reflects a poor quality of life.
